I just had the gasket fail on my Pacesetter 4 to 1 Header on a 2.4L Sunfire. I had the wonderful paper gasket that Pacesetter provided, it lasted all of 1 month before giving out. At the moment I have a Fel-Pro Ehaust Manifold Gasket on, but I was wondering if there's a better choice. Does anyone make a good Gasket for a header specific application? I've done some web searches over the past several months and haven't had any luck yet. Any good information would be greatly appreciated.
The fel-pro gasket should be good enough. Just make sure its clean
fel-pro should hold up.u could even add a real thin bead of permatex for extra insurance
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
or simply use the stock metal one.... cant go wrong there.
Thanks for the inputs, I guess I'll see how well the Fel-Pro holds up.

ac delco makes gaskets. lol
My Car
the #1 failure reason is not going back over the nuts the hold the header on
also its best to use some ultra copper silicone on both sides of the gasket
but using the stock gasket is almost always better

Agreed.
Usually anytime you hear that people have problems with their aftermarket header, it's because they use the crappy gaskets that the company gave them.

I have the Fel Pro gasket on my Pacesetter 4-1 header. I have only had it for about a month but i drive the hell out of my car and i have had no problem at all
yea bottom line is never use the gaskets they send you with the header. Always pick up an OEM replacement from Felpro.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
