i have a 00 2.4 auto totalled and i wanted to put it into another car (cavy or sunfire). i was wondering what year model and trims it would easily drop in without having to do any major modifications. i want all the motor mounts to match up etc. thanx

well Your best bet would be another Z or GT 2000-2002 so you dont have to swap any thing but the motor as the computer is different for pre 00 i beleive.

i didnt know if yall read this correctly but i have an AUTO tranny. I wasnt aware that they changed tranny on the autos i thought it was just the isuzu to the getrag.

if you are just trying to put the engine and transmission you have into another car, then any 3rd gen really.... just make sure you have all the wirings and stuff to go with it.
thats what im tryin to do, so any 95-02 auto cavy BUT WHAT ABOUT sunfires??

both sunfire and cavalier that is....
so the mounting points ON THE BODY are the same for 3rd gen auto j's weather they are 2.4 or 2.2's? (just tryin to make sure LOL)

pretty much unless they changed something in 03....
the same mount i have in my 99 is the same for any other z24 2.4L or 2.3 z24 for that matter as well as any other 2.2 ohv....

Sorry but if you're going get another car, why not just buy a car that is already setup with the same motor/tranny you have now and sell the engine & tranny you have now? I mean it's your car and your purgative but I'm just giving a suggestion.
