Ok I am just wondering if anyone could tell me, If 01 2200 2.2l 4 spd auto has a correct PCV valve part. If anyone could direct me / help with this question. I notice while removing the PCV valve out of my valve cover their is no valve piece inside? for example when you can hear the valve pcs rattle when shaking it. Or with these cavalier dont need that? Just curious.
Thanks for the info

I'm not really sure what your saying. but if the PCV ratles you should replace it.
On the 20+ ecotec motors I've looked at they don't have a PCV valve either...
I guess GM isn't bothered by oil blow-by going into our throttlebodies?!?
ok Kross
thanks for youre info, I thought my pcv was broken, I guess its the same thing as well.

Well that actually happens
with the PVC valve. The purpose of it is to ventilate the crankcase of any harmful vapors, and recirculate them back into the TB/intake. Without it, the vaprs are trapped inside the crankcase and can damage the engine - or they are let out into the environment through a breather filter, which causes more pollution.
The Ecotecs definitely have some type of Positive Crankcase Ventilation system, it just might be readily apparent by glancing at the engine

I'm sorry I thought you were talking about a older 2.2. Yesh the 2.4 and the Ecotec have a PCV system, but not a actually PVC valve. It does vent back into the intake to cut down on emissions.
Where on a 96" 2.4 is it located? Is it right behind/below the intake manifold? And how would i know if its bad?
