man i am pissed.
so we drove 6 hours to the bash and then came back.. on the way back almost at home we stopped at a rest stop to take a piss. get in the car and tried starting it.. NOTHING..
battery was fully charged.. but no cracking , nothing.. no noises...
so we were testing @!#$ and then finaly it started when i wiggled some wires near the starter..it was fine.. but the engine light came on and TC light too.
when i got home and was on the local roads the engine started to choke... especially when i tried accelerating from decelleration or a stop.. like it would drops the rpms.
so i let it stand and cleaned the air filter.
it was better..but still chocking and dropping RPMS sometimes.. its still doing that and the engine light turned off.
any suggestions?

It never ceases to amaze me that people ignore the CEL......
Check the CEL.

Check Engine Light.
Mine started acting up too just as Tabasco and I got back to Parkersburg. It acted like it was out of gas. I stopped and let it cool a bit, and it was fine. Then I took Ben home (45 min drive from my house) and it started again at his house. Let it set and it quit doing it. Brought it home with no problems, then took my wife to work this morning and the CEL came on.
At least our cars aren't expensive to fix. lol
my car was fine to indiana, fine at indiana, and fine on the way home.. the ride home was murder too 14hours straight but no probs...
read the code your CEL is throwing and that'll probably clue you in as to what the underlying problem is
but the light came off

didnt come back on . and its shifting werid now.. like especialy when i reverse and then go forward .. its like delayed shifting..
arrrr..
and i am going for a 4 hour drive this weekend again hmmmm

just because the light goes out doesnt mean the computer didnt save the code
the code stays in the computer for 44 ign cycles , with the code gone before its cleared
so you can still get the code checked
everyone is having problems after the bash, Ken2.2 thinks he bent a rod, Rodimus's car craped out, your is broken to now
i almost had similar problems where it seemed to be missing , yesterday I had to get up early to fix it to make sure I could get something to drive to work, unhooked the msd , swapped to another coil pack idi i had and inspected all the plugs, started right up no problems so im thinking
1. MSD fried stock coils
2. Power wire to MSD was coming loose (Highly likely this is the culprit)
3. MSD dipswitches were somehow maybe changed by accident
4. MSD box is bad
Id lay my bet on the coils or the power wire but I havent had time to check each individual item to see which is the troublemaker

1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
today at lunch the delayed shifting continued.. and rpm just dropped few times after letting go of the gas.
also. my idle is about 500rpm.. i always thought it was around 1000 before... whats normal

Like suggested I would take it somewhere like Autozone and have them check your computer for codes. One way that I can think of to see if maybe a coil is crapping out on you would be to get a spark plug tester and check each spark plug individualy while the car is under load. The tester I am talking about is a normal spark plug that is attactched to a spring like clip so that you can clip it somewhere under the hood, like on a lift point and see the spark makes the gap in the plug. I did that before on my 2.4 and noticed an irratic spark because of a bad coil. Of course your car is going to run more rough with only 3 spark plugs in but that is expected. Just hook that up and move the throttle cable to raise the RPM's (car in park....duh), if the spark is really inconsistent it is an ignition issue.
What about a fuel filter? When was the last time it was changed? What about bad gas?? DId you recently eat at Taco Bell??
My car is a 5 speed and my idle is about 900 - 1100. Automatics I believe are lower but I'm not sure how much lower.

I'm really glad I didn't go now. Not that I could have gone, but just to be sure, after the fact. Maybe next year.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
my car is just running rich now instead of lean but thats cause i changed back to a stock TB otherwise no problems here 15 hrs of driving to
I know why everyone is having problems...Its the first Interacial small gm vehical bash and your cars just cant cope with the other compacts taking their turf...j
ur best bet is to do what everyone else is telling you. go somewhere and have a scantool hooked up to it and find out what code it threw. it will have it in the computers history. there is so many things it could be, i mean something as small as a bad ground can do weird things. but the best way to do it is to hook up to it and check it. otherwise you will just spend too much time and too much money trying to replace different things that you think might be it..... good luck man
