2.2l EGR Valve Location

Got my code checked today and pulled a (P0401), "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Insufficient Flow Detected".

So ... Where is it located on a 2.2l? And what does it look like?

Second question, is it possible to clean a egr valve? I got a price for 90 bucks, but was reading around on the internet and some sites claim you can clean the valve with some carb cleaner?

Any info on this is appreaciated.

This question should have been asked in the "MAINTAINANCE" forum.

But, to answer your question about where it is located, it's on the divers side of the cylinder head on the water manifold, almost under the brake master cylinder. It's black and cylindrical shaped, an electrical connector on top, with an aluminum base and two bolts holding it in place.

You could try to clean it out with carb cleaner, but from what i've seen the results vary, some times it works, some times it doesn't. The problem may not be the valve itself. There is also a tube that runs from the back of the cylinder head, up ot the middle underside of the intake plenum. This tube can become clogged with carbon build up also.
