hey im getting a 59mm rsm TB and i was wondering if it will bolt right up to the rsm intake manifold that says its mathc ported for the 62mm TB that they now have.
Its a stock TB ported. so yes it is direct bolt on, the intake is also a stock and it is just gasket matched and painted.
so the intake manifold is ported out with bigger tubing right? how much of a gain you think it makes, 5hp? im putting on header, catback, intake and bore'd TB
i thought that RSM only made 62mm TB where can i find the 59mm TB. which one is better anyway and how much hp do they make on a 2200. and is a TB spacer really worth buying.
JBodyPerformance also has a 60mm IM/TB combo that i'm looking into now...

Update on the JbodyPerformance IM/TB Combo....
RSM's 62mm has been measured at only 60mm...so I emailed JBodyPerformance to ask if it were possible to get a pic to prove the measurement of the TB/IM...and they said...
That level of detail is not possible.

I was just wondering if it would be possible to get a picture of your 2.4L T/B and Intake Manifold being measured w/ a digital micrometer?
Thanks
Brian
I emailed them back to see if they could actually prove their claims...I'm not trying to discredit them, but it would be nice just to make sure you're getting what you pay for...instead of a smaller TB/IM.

While I have heard of our TB's measuring less than a MM shy of spec, I have never heard of a 60mm unit leaving our shop. When this was first brought to my attention, I measured all units in stock. All were to spec.
If the caliper is digital, have it callibrated.

no no, when you say ported, it means that some material off of something was removed. something built with "new or bigger" tubing is not ported. basically, they take a stock manifold and open up the ends a little bit more, especially so the butterfly doesn't get stuck on the manifold when open. i personally put on my 59 mm tb on my stock manifold.
supercharger here i come....

is the rsm 2.4 intake mani worth getting or what cause i heard it gives you 7-10 hp...im really trying to get my car in the low low 15's with throttle body, intake, intake manifold, header, catback so i wanna know if the rsm manifold is worth getting cause i wanna see some gains from it.
IN MY PERSONAL OPINION from reading past members experiences (and also learning to port it yourself, do a lot of research and testing first, it will probably not come out perfect and is all up to you), no.
you're gonna need a little more to hit low 15s than just that, throw in a port n polished head and also perhaps some new cams. every little bit helps, so in a way, it COULD be worth it if you have money to burn.

The IM dosn't worth the price they ask IMO. From what i've seen, they just remove the lip. I've done it myself with a dremel tool. Not hard at all, it's plastic.
Viper you seem to forget that some have done 15.3 with a stock 2.4L. Personnaly i think it's possible to do 15 flat with only breathing mods. But,
1. You will need stiffer motor mounts and tranny mounts.
2. You need good tire( if not drag radial)
3. Perfect temperature
4. The see level on your side
and finally
5. You need to be a hell of a driver.
Good luck!
Its totally possible to hit 14s with only intake and exhaust on a 2.4 ive seen it done numerous times you shouldnt need to mod that heavy to hit 14s
