Ok I think that I have a problem with my fuel system, I have not noticed any problems in pick up but did notice I was kind of getting bad gas mileage the last week. so I jump in this morning and nothing....turns over fine and all but seems like not getting fuel, so I putzed around with some stuff and nothing, finally I have a hose I use for the brake booster line when running sea foam to clean the TB. I put some gas in the line and the car fired up and died as soon as the fuel ran out. I am pretty sure I can rule out the injectors, but is there any way to surely test the fuel pump? also isnt there like a fuel sending unit OUTSIDE of the tank? I am a little irritated right now. OH and I have a new fuel filter laying around, was thinking of throwing that in and maybe blowing out the lines to see if that does anything......Any comments, suggestions, advice would be appreciated

Ya could be a clogged filter, i would put it on since u have it so it'll rule out that. I think maybe your not getting enough fuel pressure created from the pump. I would maybe try to get a fule pressure gauge and measure what your output PSI is. I'm not sure what the pressure should be but i'm sure you can ask around and find that out. Obvioulsy if the pressure is low you know it's the pump, and if it's good then it's something like a clogged line or dirty injectors or something.
Also, when you cycle the ignition do you hear the pump priming? it won't do it everytime but will do it maybe every 20 second or so in between cycles.

well I got it running before the I put the fuel filter in, I got on the old crawler jacked the Z up and took the old mallet and beat on the gas tank and @!#$ back there while somebody was in the car trying to start it, it was a bit doggy but started and ran I guess OK.....changed the fuel filter, hesitation is gone idles better so I am guessing the fuel filter did the trick..........for now thanks for the advise though....I think I will check the fuel pressure to check the pump just in case
