Please ......... any help will be great

I have 2 problems ...

(I have a '93 Chevy Cavy)

Prob. #1 - I have no a/c ..... when I turn it on, the air is actuelly hotter than if I would put the heat on. Last summer it worked fine, but when I tried it for the first time sometime earlier this summer, is when I realized it didnt work .....

Prob. #2 - Last Friday (July 29th) I was leaving for work and went to start my car, and it wouldnt start. I sounds like it wants to turn over but it wont turn over fully. And, it makes a lound boom/knock sound or like its backfiring into the engin. My fiance and my dad both thought it was the timing chain, but after taking it apart, my dad realized that wasnt the problem, and now we dont know what it could be.

Please help ... I need my car back

Any kind of input will help!!! ............. Thanks in advance!!

#1 if you just need a recharge see about the retrofit kit for the new refrigerant, it might be less of a hassle in the future.

#2 if you haven't already check all your fuses, sometimes it's the obvious thats overlooked.

good luck

When you go to start it and it backfires into the engine it can and may very well be the camshaft or crankshaft position sensor.
