Hey guys i have a question, a serious one. Alright here goes, i have a 96Z24 and its' having fuel problems and i dont know why or what's wrong,(replaced fuel filter) like when i start it,it idle's rough like its running very very rich, and you can actually smell gas coming from my exhaust, like i said very very rich,and when i was driving it, it sounds like it's put-putting like it s about to run out of gas but theres about a half tank left, and i dont have a clue, and i dont know if it's my wiring or just autozone's snapon, but when i took it there it wouldn't read my ecu so i dont have a clue.has about 75,000 mi on it and also 2 holes on my block for my mounts need to be retapped, so im also dealing with alot of engine roll should i look into jus getting a new motor or what should i do, and also when im driving for some odd reason my tachometer cuts off and just drops to zero and my gauge light's start flashing along with my ebrake lite, but my ebrake's down, so i dont understand, please help, any help greatly appreciated. thanx
Hmm..... It kinda sounds to me like an injector is stuck open. I could be wrong though. That sounds kinda logical for what your describing, however with all the other problems you're saying you have been having, I just don't know. Sorry man.

Something easy to check would be your spark plugs. When was the last time they were changed? Could be that they aren't firing because of a bad coil, boot, or housing. This would cause a misfire and a rich condition. Take a look at your plugs and compare them to

It could also be a stuck injector(s) like Acid said.
